EINSTEIN'S PREDICTION

This thing we so lavish

had me thinking,

I was connecting the dots,

the world seemed to be in the palm of my hands

yet a million light years away.

I was but part of an audience

so sheepish.

Too afraid to take a step towards falling in love with purpose

and into place.

I thought a slow pace

in the race

was going to be okay

but unconciously I had sought and brought out a beast.

it had been caged too long.

when she finally awoke, she raged.

 She  reminds me continuously

that the world truly

seems to be always in the palm of my hands.

And I am such a fool

to misuse such a tool.

I am always glancing through this thing we so lavish,

a window to freedom

yet also a mirror of my misery

and cold reality.

I was but fetching more false hopes of a better life

one seen through this innovation that connected me to the rest of the world

but disconnected me from my world.

I guess Einstein's prediction about information

is coming to light.

THE EASTERN TIP WING OF THE PARADISE

We are like pockets

Sowed into the ocean floors by ancient volcanoes

Scattered and widespread

Yet everything that confines us

Defines us.

 Every little thing connects.

We are the culture we created

And the nature we are surrounded by.

From the rigid mountain terrains of Rabaraba

To the vivid coasts of Rossel.

We are Milne Bay.

A land that sleeps under the shimmering Eastern star at night

And wakes to the glimmering first morning light of the tropical rising sun.

We are the sons and daughters of epic sailors

And the descendants of great visionaries.

Our most treasured item

Is the Bagi,

Which serves as our totem.

The ocean threads our lands together like beads,

Just as no matter how far we wander,

We are each other's clansmen.

We are Milne Bay

The Eastern tip wing of the bird of the paradise.

A YOUTH EMPOWERMENT POEM

 WE ARE THE CHANGE

It is no doubt

We need the voices and numbers

Of the youth

To wake this nation from its slumber.

Even if the stakes

Are high

We have to fight

For what is right.

Because we have what it takes.

The coin has been flipped,

Into our hands

Opportunity has slipped.

The choice is ours,

Take it or forsake it.

But if we must,

Then don't just make nosie

Instead raise your voices for change.

And don't harbour evil intentions,

Instead put your attention to good

And labour for change.

See,

Our adversities are out greatest advantages.

If we build on them positively,

They will take us on adventures.

A CLIMATE CHANGE POEM

 THE ONLY EARTH

By: Lillian TOUNOKON aka Climate Poet

There's 7 billion plus people,

195 nations,

7 continents,

5 oceans,

But 1, just one, the only one Earth.

This mesmerizing deep blue, lush green ball, suspended by gravity in our wide galaxy.

Inhabited by mass populations of flora and fauna.

Living and non living things flourishing, diverse and widespread in all colors and shapes.

A population of which we are thriving

Yet driving everything else underground.

And as we ravage for dominance,

We have voluntarily hauled ourselves into the belly of this beast called climate change.

It engulfs our islands,

Floods our lands,

Thins our ozone layer,

It is sucking life out of us.

But this beast is the cry of mother nature

So let us try at least and intervene positively.

Let us calm the beast, her cry is too heartbreaking to bear.
